DESCRIPTION:We are excited to bring our \nK9 Handler First Aid – Advanced Scope to Southern California\nin partership with CARDA.  And\, we appreciate CARDA for allow other K9 Handlers to register for this class as well! \nYou have the choice to complete this course as a Single Skills training day $200\nOr\, you can elect to complete the entire K9 Handler First Aid program by completing additional modules only (+$125)\nAll students will received our Airway Emergency Basic module (featuring the now-viral XXT technique). \nOn-Site Skills Training\nThis is not your typical first aid course.  This is a deep dive into two of the leading causes of preventable death in working dogs:  Heat and Trauma. \nMorning: Handler 2.0\nComprehensive Strategies that Increase Performance AND Protect Against Heat\nThis program is a deep-dive into the extensive actions handlers can take everyday\, on-the-job\, and in emergency responses. It will challenge handlers to up-level their relationship with their partner in many ways\, with the rewards of both increased performance AND protection against the leading cause of preventable death in K9s… Heat Stroke.  Topics include: \n\nUnderstanding Heat Injuries: so we can reverse engineer protective solutions\nEveryday: The ABCs of building a heat resilient K9 (sorry\, you might not enjoy the C Step!).\nOn-the-job: Work/cooling cycle tools that support your K9 and the mission\nEmergency Response: Immediate actions that can help save your partner’s life.\n\nIt would be great if we could have several demo dogs for the assessment portion of this\, so check out this link to see if your partner is a good candidate:  (Demo Dogs for K9 MEDIC Classes). \nAfternoon – Stop the Bleed / Trauma\nAnother deep dive\, this time focussing on a graduated skill set development starting with very basic wound packing and working up to a wide range of very realistic trauma skills.  We will cover why CAT (Combat applied TQs) don’t work on dogs\, and what to use instead.  This is a great chance to really build\, or uplevel your trauma skills. \n \nSkill Certification\n\nUpon completion of the skills day\, everyone will receive a certificate for 8hrs of Hands-on Training\n\nFull Advanced Handler First Aid Program\nThere is a lot more to caring for dogs\, then just heat and trauma!  If you would like to complete the full K9 Handler First Aid Program\, you can choose to include the full K9 MEDIC Handler Online Academy.  Those students will also receive the following modules and when the skills and modules have all been completed\, they will receive a full Program Certificate as well.  Topics include: \n\nToxins\nNarcan Administration\nBLS – Basic Life Support (incl intro to Shock)\nGDV (Gastric Dilatation and Volvulus)\n\nAll certs are good for 2 yrs. \nLooking forward to train with you!  #ForDogsSake \nFullscreen Mode\n \n\n\n\n\n \nTickets\nThe numbers below include tickets for this event already in your cart.
