Le programme comprend le traitement des urgences canines dans des environnements conventionnels et tactiques, de sorte que vous serez prêt à intervenir partout et à tout moment. Skill Stations

Skill stations  focus on a particular field skill and ensure that each student has accurate muscle memory to ensure skillful delivery long after the class is complete. Primary interventions are repeated until students can do them, literally, blindfolded.

Each station is designed to build on existing knowledge and translation of human medical skills to the canine anatomy. Assessment skills are on live dogs and go beyond basic vitals and teach students how to conduct ongoing observations and trending through typical work cycles to identify and prevent injuries and illness early in development. Handling includes basic carries and constraints and can include advanced handling such as harness lifts and extractions.

Scénarios

Les scénarios en solo et en équipe placent ensuite ces compétences dans l'environnement de terrain probable et demandent à l'étudiant de mettre en place une séquence de traitement complète, en résolvant les problèmes au fur et à mesure. Les scénarios sont basés sur les compétences, l'équipement et le profil de mission de chaque équipe. Par exemple, les blessures par balle, les engins explosifs improvisés ou les blessures par compression d'un bâtiment effondré peuvent être inclus en fonction du profil de la mission.

+ Tactique

Cette composante supplémentaire du programme d'études reprend les compétences acquises dans les niveaux précédents et les place dans le contexte tactique en suivant les principes du MMMARCHHH. K9 MEDIC® enseigne ce composant K9 TEMS depuis plus de dix ans et se tient au courant des récentes directives K9-TECC, ainsi que des directives Canine-TCCC.

Programme hybride pour différents champs d'exercice

We’ve been working with handlers and medics for 15yrs  and, with extensive experience and the review of many different integration methods, have created ways to make a mixed program level course very successful. When students register we will gather exist levels of human/veterinary medical skills.  Students with similar skills levels are placed together in the same groups for skills rotations.  During scenarios the different groups are distributed so that Handlers and Medics work side-by-side, just like the real world

Intensive Program Format

With just 5 students per instructor, we start with small group skills stations increasing each student’s access to instructors and increasing their repetitions to gain mastery. Primary interventions are repeated until students can do them, literally, blindfolded in a SoloX scenario, where the student has the undivided attention of an instructor so that we can ensure each student has very good hands-on skills before we release them into scenario (thus decreasing the likelihood of ‘training scars’ so often created in scenarios unless intentionally designed out of trainings.
Next we move into basic learning scenarios to put the skills into context before finally moving into difficult problem solving scenarios where we can evaluate the culmination of knowledge, skills, and problem solving all at once.
Scenarios are customized to the medical scope, equipment, and mission profile of each team. For example, we have different scenarios for our Tactical, Wilderness, Disaster, EMS, etc teams.
Finally, the increased ratio means that all classes have 3 or more multidisciplinary instructors including Veterinary professionals, experienced paramedics, and field-savvy K9 Handlers, typically chosen to match the demographics of the students themselves.
The three-day version of this format is our most often requested program, as it allows for a steady progression of knowledge and skills development and layering over multiple days. It has a great deal of hands-on experience which students love and delivers excellent outcomes for long-term care of K9s.
