SUMMARY:K9 Handler/Paramedic + Tactical (260106-CA-IronDog)
DESCRIPTION:K9 Handlers\, Are You…\n\nWanting to provide the best emergency field care for your partner?\nConcerned that your medical training doesn’t address your real-world realities?\nLooking for strategies on how to better support your K9’s performance and safety at home and at work?\n\n  \nThe program includes handling K9 emergencies in both conventional and tactical environments\, so you’ll be prepared to respond wherever and whenever you need to. Topics range from safe K9 handling and comprehensive assessments to treating the most common emergencies such as heat stroke and bloat/GDV\, as well as tactical injuries such as gunshot wounds. \nSkill Stations\n\nSkill stations  focus on a particular field skill and ensure that each student has accurate muscle memory to ensure skillful delivery long after the class is complete. Primary interventions are repeated until students can do them\, literally\, blindfolded. \nEach station is designed to build on existing knowledge and translation of human medical skills to the canine anatomy. Assessment skills are on live dogs and go beyond basic vitals and teach students how to conduct ongoing observations and trending through typical work cycles to identify and prevent injuries and illness early in development. Handling includes basic carries and constraints and can include advanced handling such as harness lifts and extractions. \nScenarios\n\nSolo and Team Scenarios then put these skillsets into the likely field environment and require the student to put together an entire treatment sequence\, problem solving the situation as they go. Scenarios are based on the skillset\, equipment and mission profile of each team. For example GSWs\, IEDs or collapsed building compression injuries may be included depending on the mission profile. \n+ Tactical\n\nThis add-on curriculum component takes the skills learned in the above levels and puts them into the Tactical context following MMMARCHHH principles. K9 MEDIC® has been teaching this K9 TEMS component for more than a decade and stays current with the recent K9-TECC guidelines\, as well as Canine-TCCC guidelines. \n\n\nK9 Law Enforcement Handlers Sponsorships Available:\n\nIronDog K9 International has generously sponsored 15 registrations for Law Enforcement Handlers on a first come\, first served basis. ($1295/student)\nPlus\, they have also agreed to sponsor up to 20 K9 + Handler Trauma First Aid Kit (SRP$240) for Law Enforcement Handlers as well\n\nApply Now \n\n

K9 MEDIC® has been teaching this K9 TEMS component for more than a decade and stays current with the recent K9-TECC guidelines\, as well as Canine-TCCC guidelines. \n \nHybrid Program for Different Scopes of Practice\nWe’ve been working with handlers and medics for 15yrs  and\, with extensive experience and the review of many different integration methods\, have created ways to make a mixed program level course very successful. When students register we will gather exist levels of human/veterinary medical skills.  Students with similar skills levels are placed together in the same groups for skills rotations.  During scenarios the different groups are distributed so that Handlers and Medics work side-by-side\, just like the real world \nIntensive Program Format\nWith just 5 students per instructor\, we start with small group skills stations increasing each student’s access to instructors and increasing their repetitions to gain mastery. Primary interventions are repeated until students can do them\, literally\, blindfolded in a SoloX scenario\, where the student has the undivided attention of an instructor so that we can ensure each student has very good hands-on skills before we release them into scenario (thus decreasing the likelihood of ‘training scars’ so often created in scenarios unless intentionally designed out of trainings.Next we move into basic learning scenarios to put the skills into context before finally moving into difficult problem solving scenarios where we can evaluate the culmination of knowledge\, skills\, and problem solving all at once.Scenarios are customized to the medical scope\, equipment\, and mission profile of each team. For example\, we have different scenarios for our Tactical\, Wilderness\, Disaster\, EMS\, etc teams.Finally\, the increased ratio means that all classes have 3 or more multidisciplinary instructors including Veterinary professionals\, experienced paramedics\, and field-savvy K9 Handlers\, typically chosen to match the demographics of the students themselves. The three-day version of this format is our most often requested program\, as it allows for a steady progression of knowledge and skills development and layering over multiple days. It has a great deal of hands-on experience which students love and delivers excellent outcomes for long-term care of K9s. \n  \nSHARE…. with a PDF flyer or through Socials: \nK9 MEDIC Event Flyer 2306-PA-Bucks \nREGISTER NOW:

SUMMARY:K9 Handler + Tactical (2205-IA-CBPD)
DESCRIPTION:K9 Handlers\, Are You…\n\nWanting to provide the best emergency field care for your partner?\nConcerned that your medical training doesn’t address your real-world realities?\nLooking for strategies on how to better support your K9’s performance and safety at home and at work?\n\n  \n\nThe program includes handling K9 emergencies in both conventional and tactical environments\, so you’ll be prepared to respond wherever and whenever you need to. \nScenarios\nSolo and Team Scenarios then put these skillsets into the likely field environment and require the student to put together an entire treatment sequence\, problem solving the situation as they go. Scenarios are based on the skillset\, equipment and mission profile of each team. For example GSWs\, IEDs or collapsed building compression injuries may be included depending on the mission profile. \n+ Tactical\nThis add-on curriculum component takes the skills learned in the above levels and puts them into the Tactical context following MMMARCHHH principles. K9 MEDIC® has been teaching this K9 TEMS component for more than a decade and stays current with the recent K9-TECC guidelines\, as well as Canine-TCCC guidelines. \n\nHigh Def / Intensive Program Format\nThis format of training features the ultra realistic training for maximum learning\, outcomes and and confidence including advanced K9 mannikans from TacMed Simulations (K9 Hero and/or K9 Diesel) and environmental simulations. \nPDF Flyer\nIf you would like to download a PDF flyer to print and/or email\, you can find a file here:\nK9 MEDIC Event Flyer 2205-IA-CBPD
